where creativity and ecology meet.
where creativity and ecology meet.
Where art, ecology, and magic are integrated to awaken our inner curiosity about the sacred planet we live on and the species that occupy it with us. Through nature education, fairy-inspired arts, therapeutic horticulture, and heart-centered group gatherings, I guide people to (re)connect with the natural world and (re)develop their sense of belonging in the interdependent web of life.
Together, we can learn to navigate the challenges of this life by taking time to restore our trust in community, rely on our plant allies, (re)turn to nature and (re)build our kinship connections.
A monthly journal to share life stories, ecology, herbal remedies, seasonal cycles, and plant magic that support holistic self and collective care. A space to unravel the mysteries of the plant world and the people who built relationships with them. Also, be the first to learn first about our upcoming events, workshops, and ways to build kinship.
Offering creative, embodied eco-education (through urban gardening workshops, nature literacy content, therapeutic horticulture programs, and eco-magical characters like Lavender the Herbal Fairy) teaching the magic and science of nature.
I am a fairy educator and create content on nature literacy, creating art, exploring nature, spiritual practices, plant medicine, urban agriculture, all things outdoorsy, alternative black girl living, and life as a fairy.
A sacred space for connection, reflection, and collective care. We come together to celebrate our stories, nurture lasting friendships, and build networks of support that honor our shared experiences through intimate conversations and joyful celebrations.
Fairy-inspired acrylic paintings and crafts to reconnect to culture, mysticism, history, and the natural world.
Annual Black Fae Day Gathering
Annual event to celebrate fantasy, Black joy, art, and community. We gather every year as fairies, create an art project, and practice mindfulness.
Check out our blog to read about the 2024 gathering and see pictures below.
arkansawblk aka Lavender the Herbal Fairy is a visionary and multi-dimensional creative. She’s grown an 8 year artistic career as a self-taught painter, writer and event planner. arkansawblk enjoys quilting elements of science fiction and nonfiction, science and magic, tradition and innovation to explore the complexity and depth of life as a human-being. She enjoys thoughtful conversations, drinking herbal tea, and asking questions. With 9 years of experience in education and facilitation, Lavender is passionate about teaching about the healing powers of nature. As a guide and therapeutic horticulturist, she leads groups that explore plant medicine and connection to the earth, creating spaces where people can grow, learn, and (re)connect with nature. She hopes to support people in finding their sense of belonging in the greater ecosystem by helping people connect more consciously with themselves, each other, and the natural world we are a part of.
